We live in a moment that is unforeseen and unprecedented. As more than 1.3 billion students are unable to go to school now, the current pandemic has had an immense effect on global education. Educational institutions have embarked on technical platforms to offer online learning services to students to ensure the continuity of learning.

This "new normal" is not only a fresh idea for students, but for parents and teachers as well. Although teachers have been trained as curators of content, parents step in as facilitators and coaches of learning.

For parents, given their personal jobs, working from home, household tasks, as virtual classrooms are not as easy as plug-and-play, it is undoubtedly an additional burden.

We all recognize that there is a strong positive link between the presence of parents and the academic performance of students. Therefore, it is important for parents to actively engage in the everyday online learning of their child, whether it be the conventional learning environment or the new distance learning situation.

Thus, no matter what, for the accomplishment, motivation, and transparency of the overall online learning process in today's time, the engagement and support of parents are important.

It is true that distant learning poses daunting obstacles for all of us. When it comes to educational technology, even the most tech-savvy individuals face difficulties as certain essential aspects of learning can not be communicated online.

But at the same time, before the school reopens, we have to adapt to this transition.

And the fact is, online classes are only possible with parents' wholehearted cooperation.
